About MCS

Compliance, run like a mission.

MCS Backflow was founded by a U.S. Army veteran who brought one principle from a decade of military operations into the civilian world: when the standard is "no missed details," it can't be a side responsibility. When you work with MCS, you get a partner who treats your compliance with that same discipline — clear documentation, on-time delivery, and a single point of contact you'll know by name.

FAQ

Straight answers, before you call.

The questions Quad Cities property managers ask us most — and honest answers from a team whose whole job is keeping your water safe and your compliance painless.

Backflow prevention assembly testing is a flat $150 per device — the same price for everyone, posted right on this page. That includes the Iowa DIAL certified test, your same-day digital report, BSI Online filing, and direct submission to Iowa American Water. If a device needs a minor repair, we handle it on-site during the same visit, so there's no separate trip charge to come back and re-test.
It's required. Iowa American Water runs a cross-connection control program under Iowa DNR rules, which means any property with a backflow prevention assembly has to have it tested every year by a certified tester. It's not a sales pitch — it's a standing compliance obligation tied to your water service.
Missed or late testing can trigger a violation notice, fines, and ultimately water service shutoff from Iowa American Water. Those consequences land on the property owner or manager, not the tester. Staying current is far cheaper and less disruptive than getting caught behind — which is exactly why we file your report the same day it's done.
Most tests take 20–30 minutes per device and require a brief water shutoff at the assembly. You don't have to be on-site the whole time — we just need access to the device, and we offer evening and early-morning slots to keep disruption to your tenants and your day to a minimum. Tell us how you want access handled and we'll work around your schedule.
No — that's the part we take off your plate entirely. We file your results with BSI Online and submit directly to Iowa American Water the same day, and you get a digital PDF report for your records. Zero follow-up required from you; once the test is done, the compliance side is handled.
Backflow assemblies are what keep contaminated water from being siphoned back into the public drinking supply — so this isn't just paperwork, it's protecting the water your tenants, customers, and neighbors drink. MCS exists to do that one job well: we're a veteran-owned Quad Cities specialist focused entirely on compliance, and we've built the whole process to be as easy and hands-off for you as possible, from same-week scheduling to filing the report for you.
