Never track another testing deadline. Compliance Shield handles the scheduling, the test, the filing, and the documentation — so a missed test never costs you a fine, a violation notice, or a shutoff.
For accounts with 10 or more backflow devices across one or more properties — apartment portfolios, school districts, multi-site institutions, large irrigation networks.
Replaces standard Gold per-account pricing. Single annual invoice. One point of contact.
For accounts that want zero billing surprises — annual test, repairs, filing, and documentation rolled into a single predictable rate.
If MCS misses a scheduled test deadline, fails to file your compliance report with the water authority on time, or makes a documentation error that results in a written violation notice or non-compliance fine from your water authority — MCS pays the fine and remediates the issue at no additional cost to you.
Applies to violations directly caused by MCS scheduling, filing, or documentation errors. Available with all Compliance Shield plan tiers. Excludes violations caused by device condition, property access issues, or factors outside MCS's control.
Annual backflow testing isn't optional in Iowa. What changes with Compliance Shield is whether the burden of tracking, scheduling, and documenting that testing lives with you — or with us.
Iowa American Water can issue violation notices, fines, or service interruptions for non-compliance. Shield plans guarantee you never miss a date.
Property sales, insurance audits, and tenant lease renewals often require backflow compliance records. Shield maintains a digital binder ready on demand.
When a violation notice arrives, every tester in town is booked. Shield plans guarantee priority scheduling so you're never scrambling.
No — the plan price covers the compliance management services listed (reminders, scheduling, filing, documentation). The actual backflow test is billed separately at $150 per device, on the day of service. The plan ensures you never miss it.
You'll receive a failure report with specific findings. If the issue is internal to the assembly — worn check valve, fouled relief valve, damaged springs or seats — MCS handles the repair directly, often on the same visit. After the repair, we re-test the assembly to verify compliance and file the updated report — the re-test is always free. If we fix it, we verify it at no charge.
If the issue is outside the assembly itself — broader plumbing, supply line, or installation problems — that's outside MCS's scope, and we'll refer you to a trusted plumber from our local partner network. Once their repair is complete, we return for the re-test.
Re-tests after a repair are never charged — on any plan or no plan at all. Platinum All-Inclusive accounts have all repair labor bundled into the annual rate, plus the first $75 of parts per device per year. Parts above that threshold are billed at cost — no markup, just the invoice from the parts supplier.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Most accounts start with Basic and move up to Silver or Gold after their first compliance cycle, once they see the value of priority scheduling and re-test discounts. Larger accounts often go straight to Platinum for the predictability of a single bundled annual rate.
For accounts with 10+ devices across one or more properties, we replace standard per-account Gold pricing with a flat $13/device/year rate. One invoice, one point of contact. Common for property management portfolios, school districts, and multi-site institutions.
Basic, Silver, and Gold cover the management side of compliance — scheduling, reminders, filing, documentation. The annual backflow test ($150/device) is billed separately each year, and any internal repairs are billed as needed.
Platinum All-Inclusive bundles nearly everything into one flat per-device annual rate — the test, repair labor, the first $75/device/year of parts, filing, documentation, priority scheduling, and the Compliance Guarantee. Parts above the threshold are passed through at cost. One predictable number on a single annual invoice. Best for institutional accounts, property management portfolios, and anyone who values zero billing surprises.
If MCS misses a scheduled test deadline, fails to file your compliance report on time, or makes a documentation error that results in a written violation notice or non-compliance fine from your water authority — MCS pays the fine and remediates the issue at no additional cost to you.
The guarantee applies to all Compliance Shield plan tiers. It covers violations directly caused by MCS scheduling, filing, or documentation errors. It does not cover violations caused by device condition, property access issues, or factors outside MCS's control.
Yes — first-time MCS clients receive a free first year of Compliance Shield Basic with their initial backflow test, including all branded documentation (compliance certificate, audit letter, tenant notification template). After Year 1, the plan auto-renews at $59/year, or you can upgrade to Silver, Gold, or Platinum at any time.
